Dear Family,
 
Please note the change in the area code for our part of the state.  It is now 575 instead of 505.
 
We hope this finds everyone at least still operating to their best capacity in spite of the problems so many of us have. Getting old is for the strong in spirit--certainly not the weak! LOL  But considering the alternative, we choose the getting old.  I'll be 70 on April 25 and Dubs will be 80 on June 1.  As much trouble  as he has had with his knees, he is still getting around better than I am.  He gets kind of wobbly at times but won't hear of using a cane.  I've had a lot of pain in my knees, ligaments, tendons and muscles in my legs the past year,  It is some better after 6 weeks of therapy but there are days when I feel like crying when I walk.  But other than that, we are both doing okay.  We pray we continue to have nothing worse than what we have now. 
 
Our sports-going seasons are about over.  We went to a girl's high school basketball game last night and plan on going to their last home game Friday night.  If one of the didtrict tournament games is hosted here, we'll probably go to it.  There are still softball and baseball games but we've never gone to them.  We might decide to try one to see if we enjoy it.  Gives us something to do.
 
We've been going to Deming about every two weeks to buy gasoline.  It's usually 25-30 cents cheaper than here.  Right now we are paying $3.16 per gallon in Hurley which is 2 cents cheaper than Bayard or Silver City. We have lunch while there and do our K-Mart shopping as Silver City doesn't have a K-Mart.
 
Dubs talked to his cousin Martha Faye yesterday.  She and her family were doing fine.  She lives in Muleshoe. 
 
We plan on being at the family reunion but don't know if any of our family will be.
